The Polar FS1 Heart Rate Monitor is one of the easiest to use heart rate monitor on the market besides the Omron HR-100C Heart Rate Monitor. One of the reasons why it is so easy to use is because of its simple design with minimal buttons to fiddle with. Unlike more expensive models from the Polar Heart Rate Monitor range, this model has fewer functions but certainly more user friendly. Basically this model works as a

- Measures your heart rate accurately and monitors your heart rate based on your heart zones.
- Water resistant to 50 meters (165 feet)
This model may be at a disadvantage compared to other brands as you would need to send the watch back to the manufacturer just to get the batteries changed. It can be a real pain, if it takes them too long just to change the battery.

Polar T31 Non-Coded Transmitter and Belt Set
This belt and transmitter set complements your Polar heart rate monitor perfectly. If your existing belt that comes with the Polar watch does not work, then this transmitter and belt set will work perfectly with it. It’ light and completely waterproof. Take note that this model may interfere with other electronic devices because it is non-coded. There is however, a coded version to prevent cross talk.

As a result, it’s easy to monitor your heart rate during training runs. This version of the T31 is non-coded. If you’re concerned about crosstalk from other electronic devices, Polar sells a coded version of the T31 as well. The transmitter belt–which works with all current Polar wrist-top computers except the CS600 and RS800–includes a sealed transmitter and elastic strap.
